Our 5*
Knowing that our ultimate’s were right after the 5* , this was a blur and I am glad I spoke to Jessa about it days later because she confirmed something for me without even knowing it! We were one of the last groups to go in for the picture so we were instructed to hurry, take the pic and HURRY go around the partitioned area and get back in line for our ultimate, like PRONTO! I don’t know why everything was rush, rush, rush because we just hurried up to wait in line again. Anyway, here is how it all went down:
We go in for our group meet and greet. I’m standing with Jon for the pic and he is the last person on the opposite side of the entrance. I’m the 4th person in our group to walk in and Jessa is directly in front of me. I glance at the lineup and see Jordan and then I see Donnie. Jessa starts walking past Donnie and Donnie says “What? Really?” like ‘why aren’t you coming here?’ I hear her say “I’m coming back, I promise!” I pass her up to get to Jon in a hurry to take the darn picture and get it over with! Then I hear Donnie say “Her too??” And I swore he meant Susy. He always wants to hug up on Susy when he sees her and I knew that she was standing by Jordan (who was next to Donnie). By this time, I’m by Jon and they are ready to start the pictures. I find out later on that Jessa was STILL talking to Donnie when he that happened. He was pointing to me while I was walking past him to get to Jon and was asking “Her too?" (as in me!) "She’s not coming by me either??”. I totally missed that cause I didn’t think he was talking about me. That makes me super happy and sad at the same time!! Happy cause he was expected me to go to him. Sad cause I totally blew him off.
So picture is DONE and they are rushing the ultimate people back around the whole outside of the room to get inside again and go through the barricade/partition thingys again. So we get in line….and wait and wait. Not sure what the hold up was, but I’m sure it had something to do with the Divalicous guys. There are 2 or 3 girls ahead of us - which is me, Susy, Marisol and Jessa. Jessa asks us if she can either go first out of the 4 of us or last. She said she was going to take a long time in there and just wanted to give us the option cause she was going to be in there. A WHILE. I honestly didn’t care at that point, my nerves were so bad. The butterflies were kicking in big time. So, we all said, sure go first. When it’s finally her turn and she walks in and I can tell that the previous girl was still in the room too. It’s kinda quiet for a while then I hear "JESSSAAAA!!" from Donnie. That made me smile. I’ll talk about her Ultimate later because I found out about it after mine and it has an effect on everything.
I’m standing outside the curtain by Earl and I just give him this big ol smile and he smiles back. I say "Hows it going Earl??" And he says "GREAT!" and smiles back at me. (HUGE contrast to the Earl I saw in the waffle house hours earlier). So, I go in after Susy (also when Susy walks in, I hear SUSY Q!! SUSY Q!! chants from the guys) when I walk in I’m ‘greeted’ by Danny. I see Susy is still in the room too, talking to Jon. So, Danny says ‘Hi and who are you?’. I told him my name and I can’t remember if asked me where I was from…he may have. Then the photographer comes up to us and snaps a posed picture.
Danny turns me around and says “Guys, this is Robin. And Robin is sassy and a saucy wench” Ummmm ok? So I know I have this look on my face like, WTF. I just know I did. I see Donnie in the middle of the room kind of backing away so I look down. I totally remember looking down at my feet and thinking that my toes were ashy!! Then I hear Jordan singing my name. Thank God because I think I would have stayed looking at my feet the whole time! He’s walking over to me and singing “Robin, Robin,...” and I told him that it sounds soooo nice when he sings it and it sounds sooo boring when I say it! Then I give him a hug and we take a picture. All the while, still singing Roooobin...Robin..Robbbin... That was cool.
Then I turn around cause I know Donnie is still right behind me, leaning on the pole that is holding up “The Package Tour” sign against the wall. I was kind of bummed that he wasn’t all excited to see me. I mean Susy got a chant and Jessa got a personal shout out before Danny even introduced her. But he did have a little smile on his face, good enough for me. So I go in for a hug, then he turns me around and we take those 2 cute pics with him behind me (and let me tell you that was a nice feeling. Warm and fuzzies all around).
Then we turn around again for more hugs and the photographer is coming close to take another picture. Donnie puts his head on my shoulder and for some reason I did not want a picture at that moment, I just didn’t. I was almost mad about it so I just closed my eyes. I’m still not sure why I didn’t want that pic. I could have done a better pose or something with it, but whatever.
We hug a long time and then the photog takes a pic of us just looking at each other and then he gives me a kiss on my forehead/nose.
And I really didn’t mean to say this outloud, but I said “Ew, my forehead”.
Those who know me, know I’m always cold, but I sweat anyway. I was sure I was all sweaty and I didn’t want him kissing my sweaty forehead!! So he looks at me and says “What? You want a kiss on the lips?” That’s a DUH question, so I say Yes! We do the pucker up kiss and I hear the snap of the camera and I can tell through my eyes closed that the camera flashed. We start laughing and another picture.
He then says, "Yeah, I hear I’ve been kissing too many people this meet and greet.” Then he moves me over to Joe and we take a quick pic. All I got out was “oooohh Joe. Yaaaaaay “. Lame.
I remember that the reason why I’m here is to see and talk to Donnie so I turn back around and Donnie is back up against the poll on the wall with his foot up. I asked him if he was happy. He had his hands in his pockets and started to fidget around and says “ Well, this is our morning time, that’s all”. I heard MOURNING, not morning. So I said Oh No, why are you in mourning? And he says, "no we just got up a little while ago, so it’s like morning time for us” I was so confused, so I just said "oh, ok. Well, you have made me happy for over 25 years and have never let me down. So if there is anything ever that I can do to return the favor in the slightest, just say the word." I was confused still about his response and so focused on getting what I had to say out without tearing up like a fool. Seriously.
So Jon comes over and I give him a BIG hug. It was more of a big hug on my part because I was just so glad I said part of what I had to say. I remember feeling proud that I went through with it (even though I didn’t say everything I wanted). So it was a hug of relief almost and he’s a great hug giver/recipient so it was easy.

oh and Victor holds the curain open for me to leave and smiles and says BYE and I say Bye Victor. First time I’ve ever spoken to this man LOL

So I go outside the curtain into that weird holding area. I see Susy and she is is already on the phone with someone. So I wait for Marisol to come out and I can hear her talking to Joe about elementary school or something and I hear him going ‘yeah, yeah, oh yeah, uh huh’. LOL I wondered in my head if it was just Showtime Joe or if he actually knew what she was talking about LOL. Marisol wasn’t in there a long time at all. Maybe 5 minutes if that much. Susy was in there about the same time as I was…maybe about 7 minutes total. Jessa was in there for 15 minutes at least. No lie. The VIP Nation staffer who was right outside the curtain before going in even made a comment “Wow, she’s been in there a while”. I told him, she said she was! She was right!
Another thing – I have never seen my Kiss Pic with Donnie and I probably never will. Jessa also told me that ever since the last tour, any pics with Donnie kissing girls are not posted. So Marisol gets out and we start walking back to the general area and I meet up with Jessa again. And I don’t even remember telling her much about anything other than “Yay, I got another kiss, but he was kind of weird about it. He said he was kissing too many people”. Her whole face changed and she got red, red. She says "OMG I’m so sorry! That was because of me!". I just look at her like she’s crazy and she tells me that when she went over to do her Donnie pics, he was going in for a hug and she pulled away from him and she told him that he’s always kissing people and she doesn’t like that. I can’t lie, that did kind of punch me in the gut. But there was no way she could have known he’d say that and I know she didn’t do it on purpose. But that, coupled with his weird This is our morning answer had me feeling weird, uneasy, sad.
Whatever. So we stay up in the room for a while before heading down to our seats. Jessa had bought her 5* and ultimate waaaaay after we did. She didn’t do any of the presales and bought everything days later in the general sale. She also bought a regular 5* while me, Susy and Marisol had the 5* Front Row Plus. Jessa went to go say hi to some friends and we all agreed to meet back for the afterparty. So we get in the arena, find the other girls who have regular floor tix and talk to them for a bit and go back to our seats. I call my friends in NJ and start to tell them about my experience and Jessa spots me again and starts flipping out cause we are sitting right next to each other! We didn’t even bother to check our tickets to see where each other was sitting. She was so happy she started to cry. I hang up from my friends and she tells me that out of the 3 concerts she’s done so far, she has not been able to sit with a friend! The last show in Orlando she sold her ticket to get a regular seat because it just wasn’t fun without her friend (her original friend that was going got admitted back to the hospital, so she’s been doing her shows alone). She was so genuinely happy. And that made me happy.

So we are front row (with the execption of the girls who bought the total package and are smack dab up on the stage) and Donnie sees Jessa and all through the show he’s totally showing her love. Ridiculous. So I did feel a bit of pity party for myself. Feeling like a third wheel at the Donnie and Jessa show and just thought "welp, just enjoy the Jessa and Donnie show and be happy to be there". It sucked but I was going to deal with it and enjoy the show. So for their acoustic set, they start off with “I’ll Be There” and I’m still trying a few times to get Donnie’s attention for a wave or a smile or whatever. During the song, he finally looks my way and I sort of draw a heart on my chest (I can’t do those cute Taylor Swift hearts with my hands. I look dumb, so this is what I do instead). He sees it and touches his own heart and blows me a kiss. I ‘catch’ it and say I Love You. And he smiles. The whole concert was redeemed after that. LOL Isn’t it crazy that it just took one small act to change the whole thing around, no? Weird.
So the show was amazing as usual and we go to the afterparty. The only people in our krewe going was me, Jessa, Jessa’s friend LeeAnn, Susy, Laura and Dani. We get there and start talking about the photo op. Jessa and her friend were already committed to another group. So I immediately say I want Donnie alone in the picture! I knew if given the chance Dani would have wanted him too and I was sho ‘nuff tired of giving him up. She said she’d stand by JK, Laura of course to Danny. We go for our picture and they tell us that we can’t put our bags down anywhere (???) whatever so I give Donnie his side hug and try to hide my gift bag behind him in the pic. They take it.
We look at each other real quick and he bends down to give me his cheek for a kiss. I wasn’t going to ask or take anymore kisses, but in this circumstance…

So we wait around the designated dance floor area. Donnie comes out on the stage for a second then starts taking pics in the crowd. Jordan is out in the crowd too taking pics, but not organized or anything. Jon’s out there and so is Danny. We start to go over to Donnie and I just got a weird feeling. I told Jessa, I’m not going over there. I don’t feel right. So she says "ok, I want to try to get a picture for LeeAnn". LeeAnn has never had a pic with any of them. So she goes and I stay back and just watch. I see her talking to Donnie when she finally gets to him and I see the flash of the camera. She comes back over with LeeAnn and says "OMG ROBIN. You were right to not come with me. I asked Donnie for a picture and he looked dead at me and said Didn’t I already take a picture with you?! " (wow, this is what he said to one of his ‘favorites’!) so she tells him, "it’s not for me, it’s for my friend! And he changes his demeanor and is all “Of course!" And smiling. So she took the pic and quickly got out the way. Something was off.
Then all of a sudden Donnie disappears. But it’s ok cause the music is still going, JK is still out taking pics in the unorganized mess, Jon is sitting in some girls lap talking to fans and Danny is taking pics too. Oh and the BoyzII Men guys are as well. I think I got a pic with Wanya. Yes. I did. lol. That was nice but not memorable.
Then about 45 minutes go by….still no Donnie. JK has retreated, Jon is still talking to fans and Danny is having a drink. An hour goes by, Johnny gets up on the stage and starts doing something, I don’t know. But me and Jessa are like – noooooo, where’s Donnie. Something’s up. He’s never out of sight for this long. We’re standing by the covered area where a few of the celebrity fans are, like MariaNYCPYT, and TooDelicious are. We can see JK and Donnie through the curtains. But we just don’t know whats going on. Then Earl comes out with Donnie really incognito. They start making their way to the door and some fans start to see them and start coming over. He hightails it out of there. That’s it. He didn’t acknowledge the fans on stage or anything. He stayed in that room the whole time – which was all a little over an hour. Jon and JK and Danny were still there. We decided to leave. My heart sank. Something was obviously bothering him and although he performed like nothing was wrong during the show. His actions totally showed it the rest of the day
I know he had Elijah with him at Waffle House and we were sitting in the seciont inf front of his family at the concert (Jimbo and his wife and daughter, his nephews from Orlando) so maybe it was family drama? I don’t know. I just know whatever it was, it was bad enough where he couldn’t hide it and fake being “DDub” at the afterparty. I felt so sad for him. I wish I could have just given him a hug. He didn’t have to tell me what was wrong. I’m not the best advice giver, but I just wanted him to know that whatever it was, it would be ok. So I had a great experience filled with tons of highs and some lows. The next 4 days were spent smiling and crying. I was just way too emotional afterwards and I’m never THAT emo. It actually had me worried about myself! But by the weekend, I got over it. I went to the beach with Jessa, we talked about our ultiamtes again (she told me what Donnie said about me during our group picture) and she told me about her ultimate! Which was AWESOME! It’s a great story:

Jessa’s Ultimate as told to me:
Jessa goes in and she is greeted by Danny. The girl in front of her is finishing up her pics with Jon. So Danny asks what her name is and she says Jessa and he asks where she is from and she says the Florida Keys.
And he’s all like wow, that’s cool. My daughters and I go to the Keys often, like once every 2-3months. She said she played interested but was totally not interested! She looks over and Donnie sees her and he yells "JESSAA!!" And Danny goes, "um Yeah, her name is Jessa and she is from the Florida Keys". She thinks Danny was weirded out by Donnie already knowing her name. So Donnie goes "JessaTalk! JessaTalk!! Long time!"
Donnie used to follow Jessa when her twitter name was JessaTalk. He and her would talk a lot through DM. A lot. It wasn’t anything risqué and she would often send him words of encouragement and even info on certain fans. She kept the DM email notifications that she received when they would DM back and forth and has showed me a few in the past. She got into a bit of a disagreement with some of the Atlanta blockheads about 2 yrs back. Her account ended up getting hacked into by one of the ATL girls and she never recovered it. So now she has a new twitter called SunscreenGirl.
Jessa tells Donnie that she does not have the JessaTalk account anymore. He asks her why and she tells him it just got to be too much drama. So he asks her what her new screen name is and takes out his phone and she assumes he’s searching twitter for it or is typing it in to save it later.
Jordan asks her "wow, you live in the Keys. Do you like it?" And she says yeah, it’s really cool and laid back. And then he asks her, "So have you ever wrestled an alligator?". And she just looks at him and Donnie says, "no man, what we want to know is how is the fishing?" And she gets all excited because her husband works at one of those fishing charter places in the keys. Real popular one, it has it’s own reality show, I can’t remember it, but I bet my TV friends know it.
Anyway, she is like the "fishing is awesome. I can tell you about some fishing out there, that’s what me and my husband do out there." (well He works there, she just knows all about it. She actually works for her construction company out of her house). Jordan asks again “have you ever wrestled an alligator’. Donnie jumps in again and says "NO! I wanna know has a catfish ever bitten off your arm". Jessa said she laughed at him and said "well my arms is still attached to me so no. But I think you may be talking about tarpon. Tarpon are the big fish that can bite your arm off." Then he asks her what other kind of fish are out there. She names, tarpon, dolphin, shark, marlin, etc. She said his eyes got all big and was all interested.
As a Donnie Girl, I am embarrassed to not know that Donnie is an avid fisherman. He is really into fishing and does it a lot with Elijah. Didn’t know that…but anyway – so she tells him that he should come down to the Keys and Stephen would do a private charter for him. He starts asking her prices and stuff. She was kind of upset that she didn’t have a business card on her, but figured, he will be following me again on Twitter, I’ll get him the info.
Donnie then gets closer to her and she gives him a hug but starts pulling away a bit. He says why are you so shy? And she says I’m NOT shy. And he says everytime I get closer to you, you pull away.
So they are about to take another picture and she says he got closer again either for a hug or a kiss, she wasn’t sure…and Donnie goes "STOP! Guys, look! Look at her. She’s hugging me but her leg is pulling away. WTH?’ He’s totally calling her out on it and the picture proves it. Then he said and I won't ever forget about THAT time in Atlanta. (she didn’t go into the story there, but said she was amazed that he remembered Atlanta 2010! She basically screamed bloody murder when Donnie was alone with her for a picture. It was so bad that Earl came in the room to see what was up) And she says, well let me expxlain why I’m like that. She goes into her issues and how she feels about Donnie kissing people and she tells him that he kisses a LOT of people and she just would not be comfortable with him kissing her. And then she hears how she sounds and says I’m not saying you’re going to kiss me, but I feel like you might and it makes me so uncomfortable and I’m sorry.
Joe is listening to all of this and says Well you KNOW now he is going to really TRY to kiss you all the time. LOL Donnie says, no. I didn’t know you felt like that. I promise I won’t ever try to kiss you again. Hugs from now on. And he gives her a big hug.
So AGAIN Jordan asks, "but have you ever wrestled an alligator". By this time everyone is rolling their eyes and Danny is like all flusterd and is all “Dammit Jordan, the girl lives in the Keys not the swamp” Then Jordan says "Half of the Florida keys are the Florida Everglades. And the everglades are swampland.” WOW Jessa was impressed. She said that is absolutely right, but the swampland is uninhabitable so actually no one lives there. So changing the subject Joe goes in for his picture and Donnie says something about getting too close to his Donnie girls.
And Jessa says WELL I wasn’t ALWAYS a Donnie girl. And all the guys are all like “OOOOOHHH!” and Joe says let me guess. You WERE a Joe girl. And she says Yes and they all start the “OOOOOHHH” again. She assumes this is an ongoing joke or whatever by the way the guys are acting. She says let me tell you the story though. And both Joe and Donnie are giving her these looks.
She goes into how Joe was always her fave from back in the day and that her grandpa worked in the arena they played in one time as security and that he actually got her one of Joe Tshirts that was sold there. (you remember the ones with their face on it?)She had a slumber party with her friend one night and they put their Joe shirts out on the bed – then Danny jumps in and says “oh let me guess, y’all decided to hump the Tshirts??” Jessa said Ummmm no…Then one of the security people told her that it was about time for her to go. But then Joe says, no wait, I want to hear this story. So she continues about her slumber party and says ‘we put the Joe shirts on the bed so they could sleep on the bed and me and my friend slept on the floor. That is how highly we thought of Joe; to give his t-shirt the bed and we sleep on the floor! Then Joe says and when did this switch to Donnie occur? And she says not until later, but I still love you LOL!
So then she goes over to Jon and says Jon, I know you probably won’t remember me, but I’m the concrete girl!! And he goes OMG YES Of course I remember you! How did the apartment build go? (her company has this special kind of concrete or something and one of his contractors actually used a shipment of theirs or something. They actually talked about it before and she told him they were using the same materials for construction on an apartment building…)Anyway, he remembered her too! She says they took pics together but didn't see any posted. Then they take a few group pics.
